Day 01                       

  • Pick up from Colombo & Leave for Kandy via Pinnawala.
  • Arrive at Pinnawala & visit The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

 

The Elephant Orphanage Started in 1972 & was relocated to at the present site in 1975. It is a Home for more than 70 Orphan Elephants at Present. Bathing time at Ma Oya just in front of the orphanage is sharp at 10.00am and 2.00pm. Feeding time is about an hour earlier. 

  • After Pinnawala continue to Kandy.
  • En route visit Royal Botanical Garden – Peradeniya.  

    Peradeniya is a much visited and acclaimed botanical garden, which is also good for birds. It is bounded on three sides by the Mahaveli River, which snakes around the 60-hectare gardens. Before its use as botanical gardens it had served as a royal pleasure garden. Peradeniya is the second largest botanical garden in Asia. It has an orchid house which botanists should visit. In 1905 an avenue of palms were planted and now is one of the most photographed places in the gardens. The oldest tree here is a 150 year old double coconut tree. The Giant Fig tree on the Great Lawn is another notable tree. During World War II, it served as a base for Lord Mountbatten. Today it is a haunt for day trippers, botanists and birdwatchers.
  • Lunch at suitable place.
  • After Botanical Garden Proceed to Digana.
  • Check in-to Albatross for Dinner & overnight  
  • Stay on HB basis.

 

  • Breakfast at the Hotel.                                   
  • Leisure or Play Golf at Victoria Golfing Range.
  • After Lunch visit Kandy city – The Hill Capital.

 

Kandy is a major tourist centre with the famous Temple of the Tooth Relic. The lake at the center usually holds a few birds like Indian Cormorant, Little Cormorant, Little Egret, Pond Heron, White-throated, Stork-billed & Common Kingfisher, and Spot billed Pelican. 

Kandy is Sri Lanka’s second largest city but quite different from Colombo due to the hills and cooler climate. It is a pleasant place for walking either in the town, in the surrounding hills.

  • Visit a Gem Museum & a Wood Carving Center.
  • After Kandy city tour, view a Cultural Show.
  • After the Cultural Show, visit the Temple of The Tooth Relic.

 

The Sacred Tooth Relic, housed in the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy is an object of veneration to Buddhists and the most important sacred relic in the country is. The temple is one of the most sacred places in the world for Buddhists. From ancient times kings have kept the Sacred Tooth Relic in their kingdoms as a symbol of power. History records that the Tooth Relic was first brought to the Island by Prince Dhantha and Princess Hemamali during the reign of King Kirti Sri Meghavanna (301 - 328 AD). It is a traditional belief that, whoever takes possession of the Tooth Relic, ruler or invader, has the power to rule the people.

  • Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay

Day 03           

  • Breakfast at the Hotel.
  • At leisure or Optional – Play Golf at Victoria Golfing Range.
  • After Lunch Visit Victoria Dam.
  • Dinner & overnight stay at Albatross

 

Day 04                       

Departure to your next destination.
